An international prize-winning violinist performing in Japan and abroad. From concert halls to places where cultures meet, Mai Suzuki creates musical encounters to remember.
PROFILE
A graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts and its Music High School, she spent eight years studying in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, earning the German Konzertexamen.
First Prize at the 2013 Václav Huml International Violin Competition and Second Prize at the 2016 Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition. Youngest semifinalist at the 2007 International Tchaikovsky Competition.
Solo appearances with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, and a performance at the Imperial Palace’s Tōkagakudō. She gives concerts in Germany every year and also has a base in Hong Kong.
